Robert Burwell DDSDr. Burwell is celebrating 25 years of excellence in dentistry.  Dr. Burwell 's dedication to providing high quality, comprehensive care for all of his clients has earned him an excellent reputation in the community.  Dr. Burwell is proud to have developed a relationship-based practice where clients are confident that their dental needs are met with the utmost integrity.

Dr. Burwell is committed to continuing education as a means of informing, implementing and utilizing the latest advanced techniques in all aspects of dentistry including cosmetic and implant dentistry.  Dr. Burwell is a participant at The Panky Institute for Advanced Dental Education, a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, South Coast Academy of Dentistry, Clinical Research Association, and Inland Implant Study Club.

Dr. Burwell completed his dental education at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois in 1976.  After two years in Public Health, he returned to Southern California and opened his Claremont practice in 1980.

Dr. Burwell was born and raised in the city of Claremont, where he chose to build his practice.  In his leisure time, Dr. Burwell enjoys riding his European sport bike (motorcycle), fly-fishing and snow skiing.  Prior to dentistry, Dr. Burwell spent 5 years as a jet pilot for the Navy.



RDA / Administrator

RDAMary has been with Dr. Burwell for 21 years and her job description consists of assisting in the back office, treatment coordinator, scheduling, insurance processing, financial arrangements, and all front office duties.  She graduated in 1978 from Citrus College with an AS degree in dental assisting.  Mary is a licensed RDA, CDA, x-ray and coronal polishing and participates in CRA - National evaluating group for dental products.  In Mary's free time she enjoys white water rafting, camping, and restoring her 1927 craftsman bungalow.  Her husband Larry is a high school teacher and she has a 13-year old son Landon and 7-year old daughter Kendall.


Registered Dental Assistant / Office Administrator

RDACarol has been working for Dr. Burwell for 9 years.  Carol is a licensed and Registered Dental Assistant.  She splits her duties between working chair side with Dr. Burwell and Office Administrator.  Carol has seventeen years experience in the dental field making her a valuable part of Dr. Burwell's team.  Carol is an honors student attending school part-time as she works towards obtaining her B.S. degree.  Carol also lives in Claremont with her husband Mike and daughter Elizabeth.  In her leisure time, Carol enjoys playing tennis, and spending time with her family. 


Registered Dental Hygienist

RDHCathy has been working with Dr. Burwell for four years.  Cathy is a licensed and Registered Dental Hygienist.  Cathy's main jobs include dental health educator, motivator and teeth cleaning.  Her fourteen years of experience in the dental field as a licensed Registered Dental Assistant, Instructor of Dental Assisting at a private college, and licensed Registered Dental Hygienist makes her an invaluable part of Dr. Burwell's team.  Cathy received her B.S. degree in 1996 for Dental Hygiene at Loma Linda University.  When Cathy is not working, she enjoys scrap booking, reading, sporting events with her children, Chelsea and Drew and spending time with her husband Patrick.


Registered Dental Assistant

RDAJennifer recently joined our team in September, 2001.  Her duties include all back office procedures and maintenance of sterilization equipment and the radiographic processors.  She has been a dental assistant for nearly ten years having received her training at Coastline College in Costa Mesa, California.  She is a licensed RDA and is licensed for coronal polish and dental radiography.  She is currently pursuing higher education at Citrus College and hopes to transfer to Loma Linda University for her degree in Health Science/Dental Hygiene.  She resides in Covina with her Husband and 9 year old son.  In her spare time Jennifer enjoys working on projects around her home, built in 1907, as well as hiking, reading and snow skiing.
